I’m trying to go vegetarian, or at least stop eating beef. (mainly because of the energy it takes to produce). Only problem is, I love hamburgers! I’ve tried boca and morning star veggie burgers and both were good but is there anything that is a little more meat-like?

Yves burgers are quite good. Apparently Money’s has a vege burger out that is quite good and also most of President’s Choice vegetarian products are tasty.

I personally never liked red meat and because of that I dislike Boca burgers. To me they taste too much like sausage. But for you, you might want to try Boca’s Bruschetta Basil Burgers. I just bought a box and thought they tasted too much like meat.

I like the Amy’s Texas Veggie burgers. They have this smokiness to them that reminds me of a bbq burger. Really meaty too! I think gardenburger makes a pretty decent one too. Look for burgers that have more veggies in the ingredients and not just soy. The soy burgers can have a really weird texture.

You really won’t find a veggie burger that tastes anything like beef. Soy burgers try to replicate it, but it’s nothing like the real thing. “Chicken” burgers tend to be a bit more, uh, “realistic”. Same with Morningstar soy crumbles. Most taco mix is vegan, so they make *awesome* tacos and burritos.
They don’t taste a thing like meat, but try Gardenburgers. They have much more flavor than the soy kind.
