texas_angel_wattitude asked:

Does anyone have an old family reciepe for cottage cheese kuchen that they would be willing to share? Please do not get one from the internet if you have not made it yourself. My husband loves cottage cheese kuchen which we can purchanse at the local german bakery but paying 10 dollars for something so small is outragious when I know I could make it at home for less. I have made peach kuchen but am unsure if I would have to some how season the cottage chese or what I would have to do so it tastes as good as what we get from our bakery. If you get your recipe from the internet pls list the source so that I can read the reviews ty

  1. 2 cups warm sweet milk

    1/2 cup shortening

    1/2 cup sugar

    1 tsp. salt

    2 eggs

    1 package yeast

Flour to make a soft dough

Mix and let raise as for any soft sweet dough. This makes about 8 kuchen.

    Cream Filling:

2 cups sweet or sour cream

    1 1/2 tblsp. flour

    2 eggs

    1/2 cup sugar

Heat cream. Beat eggs and add sugar and flour. Mix into cream and cook until thick. Spread on kuchen dough with fruit if desired. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake
This is a family recipe and i have never tasted cottage cheeseones, but i do know that you can make them with whatever filling you like.
