GettingStronger asked:

I asked the same question in the Germany section but I guess nobody knows the answer. I hope someone can help me here in the food section.

A few years ago I was visiting Europe and it was beautiful. We went to several places but my question is about Berlin Germany. When I went to Berlin Germany I ate something called a “dugen dogner”? It was a restaurant real close to Charlie’s checkpoint but I really don’t remember the name. I am not sure if I am saying it correctly but it really tasted good.

Can anyone show me the correct way to spell this? Also where can I find a recipe to make my own?

  1. Can you tell us what it actually was? Snack? Dinner? Dessert?

  2. Maybe Durum Döner ? It is a Turkish (not German) meat on a skewer, served with vegetables and sauce. It is highly popular in Berlin (because it has large Turkish population), but it is about as German as Curry is British.

See picture in the middle of this page:

    Where to get it elsewhere?

    Try:
= and add to the search box the name of your area/town for finding where to buy it around; or
    = for recipe
