Love that! I called it “meat ‘n beans” when I was growing up. Just a can of baked beans (I like brown sugar baked beans) and a lb of ground beef. I never baked it though. Just browned the beef on the stove, added the can of beans, and voila!!! YAY! I need to have that tomorrow!! Total comfort food.

It can be the beginning of a great “chili con carne” if you also include: (fresh ingredients in place if you prefer)
-One can of sliced mushrooms or stems and pieces
-One finely chopped onion
-One can of tomato sauce
-One finely chopped green pepper
-1 tbsp. chili powder & pepper to taste
-one can of red kidney beans
-One tsp. hot mustard
Cook the above with your meat and beans for an hour or so over medium heat voila!

This is a recipe from my mother in law that we serve all the time! Easy and delicious!
Bill’s Beans
1 – 53 oz can pork and beans
1 – 8 oz can tomato sauce
1 lb hamburger.
2 chopped onions
1 green pepper, chopped
1-2 t chili powder, or to taste
Garlic salt to taste (I use about 1 t)
salt and pepper
Saute hamburger and vegs. Drain grease and mix with remaining ingredients. Bake at 350° for 1 hour
