This buttery garlic shrimp pasta recipe is just DI-VINE! Use your favorite kind of long pasta: spaghetti, linguine, bucatini… and then get ready to swirl your fork into a mountain of goodness in almost no time at all!
Serves 4
Ingredients
- 1 Pound thin spaghetti(or whatever long pasta you like!)
- 1 lb medium shrimp(or shrimps as my mother might say), cleaned and deveined
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup dry white wine
- 3-4 large cloves of garlic, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup of fresh parsley, coarsely chopped
- salt & black pepper, to taste
Put on large pot of water on the stove and turn up the heat! While you are waiting for the pasta water to boil you can start to prepare your skillet with the oil you’ll cook the shrimp in. When the water comes to a rolling boil, toss in the pasta and about a tsp of salt and let it cook.
In the meantime, heat the oil in the skillet. Throw in the chopped up garlic and let it simmer for about a minute. Then add the shrimp, seasoning it with a dash of salt and pepper. It should only take about a minute or two for the shrimp to cook, so when they turn pink and look about ready, remove them from the pan with a slotted spoon.
Add the butter and wine to the skillet and turn the heat to a medium-high setting. (Don’t forget to keep an eye on your pasta in the meantime! An occasional stir never hurts)
Reduce the wine and butter mixture until it has reduced to about half the original amount. Return the shrimp to the pan and let reheat. In the meantime, drain the pasta – but reserve about a cup of the water in the pot! If your skillet is bit enough, toss the pasta in with the shrimp, add the parsley and toss over high heat. If not, transfer to a large bowl and mix there. If the pasta is a little dry, add a little of the boiled water and an extra spoon of olive oil.
Garnish the pasta with a few sprigs of additional parsley and offer your guests some grated cheese to top it off. Rest assured, this garlic shrimp pasta recipe is sure to be a hit!

3. Buy in bulk. Consider the food items that you use most often. Cereals, meats, vegetables, condiments, juices, and paper products can be bought in bulk usually at a lower price at food warehouses like Costco, BJ’s, and Wal-Mart. If you have a coupon, you’ll save even more money.
4. Don’t shop when you are hungry. This is a definite no-no. Shopping on an empty stomach means that you will pick up more things than you need. You are more likely to pick up that bag of chocolate chip cookies or that box of donuts when the growling gets underway.
5. Take a grocery list with you. This is another protection against picking up things that are too costly. Check your cabinets and the fridge to see what you need and write them down. Remember, the goal is to stick to the list as much as possible.
6. Shop at the same stores. This is more of a frustration reliever. In a new store, you spend most of your time looking for things and walking up and down every aisle, which oftentimes leads to forgetting an item or two. Going to the same store each time makes you more familiar with the prices so you can estimate your bill as you write your grocery list.

I’m basically a red meat person, I was wondering is they taste like lettuce or does the texture fool you into believing it is good?
I’m trying to decide if I want to spring this on my family, but NOT tell them it’s a veggie.

I had no idea they even came in flavors.
I love the Gardenburger brand- Herb Crusted Cutlet, and my local supermarket gave a lame excuse for why they aren’t going to get any more in. Also, Q’uorn products are great, but expensive, Morningstar Farms is ok, and Boca Burgers are a bit too filling. Gardenburger brand is the best, IN MY OPINION.

I have this veggie burger recipe that I made one time, but as I remember, they were crumbly. Any way to six this? Or does anyone have any good recipies using staple foods (canned vegetables, flour/cornmeal, milk, etc. not tofu) thanks =)

I want to get some veggie burgers, but I do not know which is the healthiest brand. I want the veggie burgers to be a substitute for protein since I do not eat meat.
I also don’t want the veggie burgers to have eggs in them. Anybody know a brand of veggie burgers that is really healthy and doesn’t have any eggs in it whatsoever and the store where I can find them?
We eat them on a bun with tomato. We used to have fries, but I **** to have all that fat. Then we tried a light pasta salad which was really good, but it is a pain to make and I dont really want something starchy.
My husband is fairly picky, and I am totally stumped with this one. Maybe we should just eat two veggie burgers and call it a day.
